FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION OF OUR LORD The Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, also known as Candlemas Day, commemorates the presentation of Jesus at the Temple in Jerusalem. This event marks the end of the forty-day period of purification for Mary, and the presentation of the first-born male child to God. It is a celebration of hope and light, as candles are lit to symbolize the entry of Christ, the light of the world, into our lives.
